Adferiad Dyffryn Clwyd Project

Working with farmers and landowners to create a resilient future in the River Clwyd

Fforwm Dyffryn Clwyd Forum’s application to the Integrated Natural Resources Scheme, Adferiad Dyffryn Clwyd  seeks to collaborate with farm clusters in the catchment, pioneering innovative, hands-on solutions that not only strengthen farm businesses against the impacts of climate change and nature loss, but also to empower them to tackle the root causes. By testing and refining practical interventions and sharing learning, the scheme aims to create a more resilient, sustainable future for the farming communities in the upper reaches of the Clwyd.

Working with identified farms within the catchment, the project will seek to erect stream-side fencing, plant new hedgerows and restore old, sow herbal leys, install rainwater harvesting, storage and water troughs.

There will be training opportunities for farmers on positive soil health practices, how to improve business resilience or signposting where to get information about other schemes for farmers and landowners if they’re unable to take part in the INRS scheme.

The project will hopefully run between July 2025 and March 2028.  There are plenty of ways you can get involved:
